Finding and Fixing T-Joints
Home - Return to Tutorials

T-Joints are, in my opinion, the most common and hardest to find level flaws you can have. Not only that, but they are kind of hard to explain also ;). T-Joints occur when a vertex touches a faces edge that doesn't have a vertex there. Look at the picture to the right. Notice that the two connected faces touch the bottom face, but the vertex between the two faces touch the bottom face but don't connect to it (the edge that is selected isn't split in two where a vertex should be).

NOTE: Notice that the selected edge is cut in half, that means there is a vertex splitting the edges in two.
Although once you find T-Joints, they are very easy to fix. All you have to do is simply add a vertex on the edge where the T-Joint is. After that, just click on the "Remove Extra Vertices" button () to combine the two vertices, which combines the two split edges, thus 'sealing' the level.
